The idea and methodology of Modularization have been actively emerged internationally in industrial knowledge management and stratetic study fields since early 1990's. This study focus on the foundation of Modularization study as a strategic tool, especially on application to industrial knowledge management and framework of strategic management designs for Chinese firms. The major contents and achievements in this study include: research on structure of industrial knowledge capital especially in manufacturing sectors, which reveals that relational capital is the key factor in influencing knowledge capital in China, based on revised model of Bontis'; research on IT adoption modes based on ACK and DW model, which provides two basic strategic implications for IT adoption process; research on so defined Production-based Innovation, with discussion and empirical study on its contents and evaluating indicators; further study on nature of economies of scope and its crutial relationship with modularization strategies as its operating foundation for industrial firms. Based on thorough research on basic concepts and their application framework of modularization strategies for Chinese firms primarily in manufacturing industries, this study provides three kinds of knowledge management strategies: namely, special pourpose modular (black box / economies of scope) strategy, general pourpose (economies of scale) strategy, and product-architecture-based strategy. The study also emphasizes the appropriate areas and un-suited areas for modularization strategies to function properly, based on research results of CoPS (Complex Product System) study. Aircraft manufacturing and air engine industries are especially investigated and conclusion has been given that modulariztion strategies would be fitted for so called "thorough decomposability products" and "limited level of out of control" production, and not for "complete control" (out of control forbidden) production. The study suggestes that some CoPS, such as aircraft manufacturing, are suited in some where middle in between the either extremes of integration and decomposition, however, competitive advantages are primarily located in system integrators but not modular producers, especially not for general pourpose modular manufacturers. The study has been also conducted on modularity sensitivity, the key issue of modularization study in connecting strategic and operating requirement. Based on mathematical model provided by J. Huan, the study reveals another model to include phinominar of intra-modular integerations. In general, this study covers major theoretical concepts and frameworks of modularization strategies and applications to various knowledge managmenet in industrial firms, several papers in Chiese as well as in English are published in domestic and international scientific and management journals. The result of this study, with some part of new ideas and innovative explanations can serve as theoretical and practical reference for further studies on this interesting topic.
本研究分析综合模块化方法体系这一新型管理方法理论,探讨应用于工业化产品设计和组织设计基础上的知识管理过程中的条件、方式和评估体系,深入研究其中关键性的模块独立性条件和模块化灵敏度测评准则以及适宜模型,在此基础上建立适应我国企业的知识管理设计的理论体系。
