Scientific and technological innovation and scientific popularization are the two wings to realize innovative development. Scientific popularization should be placed on the same important position as scientific and technological innovation. Without the general improvement of the scientific quality of the whole people, it is difficult to build a large army of high-quality innovation and realize the rapid transformation of scientific and technological achievements. After the joint formulation of the work plan on strengthening mathematical science research by Ministry of science and technology, Ministry of education, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the work of mathematical science popularization is more important. The purpose of this project is to improve the mathematical literacy and interest of middle school students and young teachers in China. This work will mainly focus on lectures, and domestic academicians, experts and educators of mathematics will be invited to give a series of special lectures in the form of network reports, middle schools and universities, and to hold a series of mathematics popularization report activities in academic annual meetings with China Mathematics Association, China Industrial and Applied Mathematics Association and China operation research society.
科技创新、科学普及是实现创新发展的两翼,要把科学普及放在与科技创新同等重要的位置。没有全民科学素质普遍提高,就难以建立起宏大的高素质创新大军,难以实现科技成果快速转化。在科技部、教育部、中国科学院和国家自然科学基金委联合制定《关于加强数学科学研究工作方案》出台后,数学科普工作就更为重要。本项目意在提高我国大中学生和青年教师的数学素养和对数学的兴趣。这项工作以讲座为主,将邀请国内的数学院士专家和数学教育家以网络报告和到中学、大学进行一系列专题讲座进行,同时结合中国数学会、中国工业与应用数学会和中国运筹学会学术年会等开展系列数学科普报告活动。
