Working memory is a system for temporarily keeping the associated information in cognitive activities; it plays a key role in the cognitive process, and is regarded as the hub of cognition. The human's cognitive processing always occurs in a certain emotional state, and is regulated by emotion. In recent years, more and more evidences indicate that there is a broad and deep effect of emotion on the cognitive process, and emotion can adjust all aspects of the cognitive processes so as to help brain to adapt to the environment changes. However, it has still not been clarified what is the working memory mechanism under the emotional state. In this project, we will explore the influence of emotion on the working memory encoding, working memory capacity and central executive mechanism as well as the associated brain mechanisms by using the method combining traditional behavioral paradigms, EEG and eye movement tracking, so as to deeply understand the interaction mechanism between emotion and working memory. At the same time, this study can also provide a theoretical and methodological reference for the design of human-computer interaction system under emotional arousal condition.
工作记忆是在认知活动中暂时保持相关信息的系统,对认知过程起着关键的作用,被认为是认知的枢纽。而人们的认知加工总是在一定的情绪状态下进行的,且受情绪的调节。近年来,越来越多的证据表明,情绪对于认知过程存在着广泛而深入的影响,可以对各个认知环节进行调节以适应环境的变化。然而情绪状态下的工作记忆机制这一重要问题尚未阐明。本项目拟通过将传统行为范式和脑电、眼动结合的方法,探讨情绪对工作记忆的编码、容量和中央执行机制的影响及相关脑机制等关键问题,以加深对情绪和工作记忆交互作用机制的理解。同时,本研究也能为情绪唤起条件下的人机系统交互设计提供理论和方法依据。
