Supplier development plays an important role in supply chain management. Recent emphasis on sustainability has made this collaboration with suppliers more complex and risky, such as “free riding” or opportunism. There is a gap in the research literature and investigations on whether sustainable supplier development (SSD) can form a relational rent (strategic alliance advantage or relational performance). Overall, SSD practices adoption on relational performance within supply chains has not been studied. This project aims to fill this gap and advance research in sustainable supply chains by initially investigating the various effects of SSD practices on relational performance using the relational view. First, we confirm SSD practices nature and characteristics that they can form relational rent sources. Part of this effort requires identifying the driving and contingency factors of the SSD and relational rent performance within Chinese organizations. Relational performance measures from economic, environmental and social perspectives will need to constructed and integrated. The causal relationship between SSD practices on relational performance and various linkages will be introduced in a theoretical causal framework. Based on this theoretical framework and the relational view, SSD practices are developed and tested from using direct, mediating, and moderating effects. These different approaches investigate both direct and contingency effects. The expected results can guide organizations to effectively adopt and integrate SSD practices into their supply chains. They also can support operational decision making and help organizations to realize potential win-win-win opportunities on economic, environmental and social dimensions.
可持续供应商成长已经被企业实践证明是一个非常有效的供应商管理模式,但是其是否能形成关系租(战略联盟优势),其有效的作用方式还没有被深入研究。本文拟从可持续发展角度和关系观为切入点,首先在界定可持续供应商成长形成关系租的本质和类别的基础上,识别中国可持续供应链实施可持续供应商成长的驱动因素和权变因素,并从经济、环境和社会角度构建关系绩效体系;其次基于可持续供应商成长活动类别之间因果关系,分析每类可持续供应商成长活动的单一和多重作用机理,并构建可持续供应商成长作用机制的理论框架;最后基于该理论框架和关系观,从直接作用、中介作用、调节作用和权变作用四个方面构建并验证可持续供应商成长作用机制模型。预期成果可以指导中国企业有效开展可持续供应商成长实践,为企业解决实施困境、识别实施方式和改善实施效果提供可操作性的决策依据,最终实现合作双方经济、环境和社会多赢。
可持续供应商成长已经被企业实践证明是一个非常有效的供应商管理模式,但是其是否能形成关系租(战略联盟优势)及其有效的作用方式急需深入研究。本课题的研究是围绕基于关系观的可持续供应商成长对关系绩效作用机制这一核心问题展开的。本课题的研究可以诠释可持续供应商成长概念以及丰富和发展可持续供应商管理理论,帮助供应链核心企业制定可持续供应商成长策略并实现可持续发展的目标,具有一定理论和现实意义。结合本课题研究,发表文章30余篇:其中决策科学类国际顶级期刊Decision Sciences1篇,SCI检索17篇,;中文期刊文章1篇。由于本课题研究成果,主持人被国际主流学术期刊Supply Chain Management:An International Journal(SCMIJ)文章基于大数据网络法分析法评估为在全球79891名可持续供应链学者中排名第12,中国地区排名第2。人才培养方面:支持1名博士和 3名硕士的学位论文获得学位。研究团队与国家电投四川分公司和西南能源研究院成立联合工作室,基于该项目成果正在开展应用研究。
