The project studied on the biology, influnce of major ecological factors, predatory effect and mass rearing technique for the introduced ladybeetle Delphastus catalinae (Horn) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae), an important predator in biological control of whitefly pests. The research results fund out the developmental zero and effective cumulative temperature of Delphastus catalinae (Horn), built up the forecast model of developmental duration and life table of experimental population for Delphastus catalinae (Horn), and provided the technique and measures of mass rearing for the ladybeetle. The research results also showed that Delphastus catalinae (Horn) has the remarkable biological control efficacy to the whitefly pests in agricultural crops, which is as the knowledge basis of the mass rearing and utilization of Delphastus catalinae (Horn) , and has the important significance and application value for biological control of whitefly pests, reducing the pollution of insecticides, protection of agro-environment and sustainable agricultural development.
小黑瓢虫是国外新发现的粉虱害虫的重要天敌,引进我国后的保种利用研究十分重要。深入系统地进行小黑瓢虫引咱后的生物学特性、主要生态因子的影响、捕食作用和人工繁殖研究,掌握小黑瓢虫人工繁殖的最适控制条件和繁殖技术,进而开发利用小黑瓢虫防治粉虱害虫,这对减少农药使用和保护环境,实施农业可持续发展,具有重要的意义和应用价值。
