2014年现代生物数学暑期学校

Recently, with a fast development of life sciences as well as a rapid promotion of various experimental settings and techniques, a tremendous amount of data have been available. Based on these data, one always needs to figure out the mechanisms behind, and finally solve those problems of biological or medical significance. As a matter of fact, a systematic investigation based on these data usually requires the researchers to have the some basic abilities including: comprehensive knowledge on some specific topics of biology or medicine and solid background of mathematics, statistics, and mathematical modeling. The project is intend to organize a summer school on modern mathematical biology, which is to be held in July and August 2014. The activities of the summer school contain three series of lectures and several invited talks on the nice research results on related topics. We believe that this summer school as well as the following ones will promote the development of the research in modern mathematical biology in China and also push forward the cultivation of the young scholars whose interests are in solving biological problems through using techniques and methods of modern mathematics and statistics.

近年来，随着生命科学研究的不断深入以及数据采录手段的不断丰富与精细化，从各个层次上产生了海量的生物医学数据。基于这些数据，回答生命科学、生物医学研究中普遍关切的重大问题，是目前相关研究领域的核心而且是难点问题。事实上，基于数据的研究需要研究者既系统掌握现代生物医学的相关专题，又要能够利用现代数理、统计、建模等方法进行分析与预测。本项目计划于2014年7 月－8月在复旦大学举办2014年现代生物数学暑期学校，集中邀请该领域国内外著名的专家学者，为与会的研究生、青年学者系统讲授三个相关专题课程和现代生物数学的发展前沿。本次活动以及今后的系列暑期学校的举办，将持续推动国内现代生物数学领域的发展，促进培养具备运用数学理论和方法解决生物医学领域中重要问题能力的青年力量。

本次现代生物数学上海暑期学校于2014年7月13日至8月15日在复旦大学举办。本次暑期学校共吸引了全国相关领域的年轻学者和学生200多人申请，经组委会专家筛选，共有120人入闱并参加了本次暑期学校。学生来自复旦大学、北京大学、清华大学、浙江大学以及中国科学院多个研究所等。此外，也有来自国外大学和研究机构的学生参加。包括美国科学院三院院士、中国科学院外籍院士、复旦大学特聘教授Michael Waterman，美国科学促进会会士、复旦大学特聘教授孙丰珠，国家千人计划专家、复旦大学特聘教授冯建峰，国家杰出青年基金获得者、北京大学教授耿直在内的多名老师讲授了课程。中科院院士郝柏林、金力教授等都作了前沿报告。
