As an indispensable basic demand of human society, traffic is an important support for the social and economic development. The practical traffic problems such as the operation planning of CRH (China Railway High-speed), airline flight schedules, intelligent urban traffic and so on can almost be formulated as the operation research (OR) and optimization problems. Thus, operation research and optimization play crucial roles in transportation research especially for the intelligent traffic management in such big data era. Actually, it is one of the important applications arising from the key demands of China to build appropriate models for traffic problems and develop effective and fast algorithms to solve these models.. In order to further promote the application research of Chinese OR scholars in traffic-related fields, we plan to hold a three-week special symposium at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics from July 24th 2018 to August 13th 2018 for graduate students and young scholars. This special symposium will teach three courses (totally 60 class hours) which are related to traffic operation research and optimization.
交通作为人类社会的一种不可或缺的基本需求,是社会经济发展的重要支撑。来源于交通的实际问题,如高铁运行时刻规划、航空航线规划、智能城市交通等,最后几乎都可归纳为运筹和优化问题,因此运筹和优化在交通领域尤其是当前大数据背景下的智能交通管理中起着至关重要的作用。对交通领域问题进行合理建模并设计有效而快速的求解算法是运筹学面向国家重大需求的重要应用之一。. 为进一步推动我国运筹学学者在交通相关领域的应用研究,申请者计划于2018年7月24日至2018年8月13日在南京航空航天大学为国内研究生和青年学者举办一个为期3周的专题讲习班,讲授三门共60学时与交通运筹与优化相关的课程。
