Abstract: Strategic change is related to the formation and development of enterprises. However, there are such phenomena as “success trap” and “failure trap” in practice. The ambidexterity of the strategic change is an extensively debated issue in academia. This study reviews existing literatures on the “ambidextrous paradigm” and “punctuated equilibrium paradigm”. Based on this, the study chooses the “organized abandonment” of Drucker as the perspective, the “temporal depiction” and “mechanism depiction” as the path, and focuses on the ambidexterity behavior of the strategic change clearly. It studies typical domestic cases by applying the method of grounded theory to explore the Cyclical Ambidexterity Balance which is driven by the mechanism of organized abandonment of the essential characteristics including “unfreezing and re-unfreezing”, “balance and rebalance”. Through theoretical deduction and empirical research, this study reveales the mechanism mode and the time mode of strategic change under the framework of “organized abandonment”. Accordingly, this study constructs the parallelism ambidexterity balance effect of horizontal dimension and inter-temporal ambidexterity balance effect of vertical dimension, analyzes the cause and effect phenomenon in the process of balance, and builds its theoretical model on the basis of the conclusion from the exploratory research further. The significance of the new one proposed by this study lies in breaking through the “temporal predicament”, identifying the optimal node of and the endogenous driving mechanism to unfreeze actively. On the basis of it, the model of strategic change process is reconstructed, which expands the model of strategic change process represented by Lewin’s.
战略变革关系到企业的生成与发展,但在当代的实践中仍存在“成功陷阱”和“失败陷阱”等现象。战略变革的二元性是学术界关心的热点问题,本课题研究在前人对“二元性平衡范式”和“间断平衡范式”等已有研究的基础上,选择以德鲁克的“抛弃政策”为研究视角,以“时间刻画”和“机制刻画”为研究路径,聚焦于战略变革二元行为。选择国内有代表性的案例,采用扎根理论研究方法,探索研究以抛弃机制驱动解冻与再解冻,平衡与再平衡为本质特征的周期性二元平衡。通过理论推演和实证研究,析出“抛弃政策”框架下战略变革二元行为的机制模式和时间模式,构念水平维度的并行性二元平衡和垂直维度的二元跨其间平衡,并分析平衡过程中的因果现象,进而在探索性研究结论基础上构建理论模型。提出了周期性二元平衡论,意义在于突破“时间困境”,揭示解冻最优节点和积极解冻的内生性驱动机制,在其基础上重构了战略变革过程模型,拓展了以卢因为代表的战略变革理论。
