现代优化与应用国际研讨班

We plan to hold an international workshop on modern optimization and applications from June 20 to July 8 2016 in Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The workshop aims to promote extensive communications and cooperation between the domestic and foreign scholars in the field of modern optimization and its applications, especially to promote the relevant research of graduate students and young scholars in China. The workshop focuses on the international latest research progress about optimization and applications in recent years. Major topics of the workshop include: modern optimization techniques (such as sparse optimization, robust optimization, network optimization, mixed integer programming, tensor optimization, and matrix optimization) and their innovative applications to engineering, industry and management (including information science, oil industry, signal processing, information theory, image processing, machine learning, statistic, data analysis, wireless communications, etc). The workshop will invite many international famous experts, which can make lots of domestic scholars, especially young scholars, the opportunity discuss with the international first-class experts face-to-face, and promote domestic research on optimization and applications and international communications and cooperation.

为促进国内外学者在现代优化及其应用方面的广泛交流和合作，特别是推动我国青年学者及研究生在相关问题上的研究，我们计划于2016年6月20日至7月8日在中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院举办现代优化与应用国际研讨班。本次研讨班侧重近年来国际上优化和应用的最新研究进展。主要议题包括：现代优化技术（稀疏优化、网络优化、混合整数规划等）及其在工程、工业及管理领域（信息科学、石油工业、图像处理、机器学习、无线通信等）的创新应用。研讨班将邀请《Journal of Global Optimization》主编Butenko教授、《 Math. Prog. Comp.》General Editor Thorsten Koch教授以及美国休斯敦大学彭积明教授授课，努力促进我国在优化和应用的研究以及国际交流与合作。
