It is for a long period that there have been no efficient countermeasures against serious insects, weeds and plant disease of Chinese herbs. Thus the scale, characteristic and classification of pests, weeds and diseases of 55 herbs in Guizhou province were investigated in this project..Taking tung oil acid, other poly unsaturated acid and heterocycles as lead compound, followed by lead optimization and lead development, 40 new compounds were designed and synthesized. Their bioactivity were tested against the main herb damagers such as Rhizoctonia, Fusarium wilt, Plant Virus, Alternaria, Leaf spot disease, Aulacorthum sp, Rottemberg, Linnaeus. The bioactive compounds were obtained and the structure-activity relationship was investigated, which give good bases for the following new bionic pesticide formulating..The pesticide residue detect lab was established to monitor the pesticide residue status of Chinese herbs in Guizhou province. Several research papers were published. Six masters of science graduated and one Ph.D. did research work by the financially support of the fund as well. .
