Going out has become China's important starting point of the strategy of the Belt and Road. How to go out and improve the international competitiveness of Chinese multinational corporations, and enhance the feedback effect of these corporations to Chinese economic has received extensive attention of academics and policy makers. Based on China's unique institutional background, this project match the ministry of Commerce directory with Chinese industrial enterprise database and form a new OFDI micro enterprise database, match the data collecting by hand of the mode going out and equity, carefully design the empirical strategy such as DID and PSM, overcome the interference of enterprises heterogeneity and endogenous in order to fully and reliably identify the conduction effect of institutional environment to enterprises to go out motivation, the mode and the performance, and then more deeply understand the interaction between systems of domestic reform and opening to the outside world . This project is expected to effectively promote and expand research on institution and OFDI, provides the theory and empirical evidences from China, and to form a good response and supplement to the OFDI theory of Institution-based View and the Emerging economies MNCs .At the same time, it can provide objective empirical evidence and reliable countermeasures to "build an open economy new system, speed up cultivating competitive advantage" , promote Chinese enterprises up the value chain and upgrade, which has an important academic value and practical significance.
走出去已经成为中国实施“一带一路”战略的重要抓手,如何通过走出去提高中国本土跨国公司的国际竞争力、提升走出去企业对母国(中国)经济的反哺效应受到学术界和决策者的广泛关注。本项目基于中国独特的制度背景,将商务部企业名录与《中国工业企业数据库》配对形成全新的OFDI微观企业数据库,匹配以手工搜集的走出去模式、股权等数据,精心设计DID、PSM等实证策略,克服企业异质性和内生性的干扰,以求充分可靠的识别制度环境对企业走出去动因、模式及其绩效的传导效应,以期更深入地理解国内制度改革与对外开放之间的互动情况。预计本项目将有力地推进和拓展制度与OFDI的研究,提供来自中国的理论与实证证据,对制度观(Institution-based View)OFDI理论与新兴经济体跨国公司理论(EMNCs)形成良好的回应与补充。同时,为“构建开放型经济新体制、加快培育竞争新优势”提供客观的经验证据与可靠的对策建议,对推动中国企业价值链攀升与转型升级具有重要的学术价值和现实意义。
