Quantitative determination of iron oxidation state in Chinese ancient glaze is a key issue of Chinese ancient porcelain researches. The advantages of synchrotron based X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy (XANES) over other methods are the applicability to compositions with low contents of Fe, the possibility to perform measurements at air, and finally the possibility to perform measurements using a beam focused down to a microscopic or even nano-scale size. However, to reach a precision on the oxidation state of a given sample that is significantly better than ±10% with this technique, a calibration for the glaze composition of interest is needed. This project will synthesize three series of models based on the chemical composition of Chinese ancient glaze and determine the calibrations curves from known standards depending on the empirical comparison of XANES spectral features. This calibration lines will improve the calculating precision of oxidation state of iron in Chinese ancient glaze and further improve the understanding of the role of iron for the glaze color. On the basis of the above researches, a computing platform for calculating the oxidation state of iron will be open for users of Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) from Chinese ancient porcelain areas but also for those carried out researches about ancient glasses, ancient glass beards, and so on.
如何准确表征瓷釉中多价态铁离子的含量和比例是研究我国古代离子着色瓷釉必须解决的一个问题。同步辐射XANES方法在化学价态表征方面具有制样简单、可在空气中测试、可测低含量元素以及微区分析等优点,而在化学价态比值定量表征方面存在不足。为使用该方法将Fe化学价态比值的测试误差控制在±10%以内,必须建立与测试对象成分体系类似标样的Fe离子化学价态校正曲线。鉴于此,本研究拟根据中国古代瓷釉的成分特点,模拟制备与之类似成分体系的系列标样,建立基于XANES谱的Fe离子化学价态校正曲线,并明确其在古瓷釉测试中的适用条件和适用范围。该校正曲线有助于古陶瓷釉中多价态铁离子含量和比例测试,可极大促进对古陶瓷釉中Fe离子呈色及作用的认识。在此基础上,搭建Fe离子化学价态计算平台,供上海光源相关领域用户使用。该平台不仅可为古陶瓷研究提供条件,潜在研究对象还可扩展到玻璃、釉砂、玻砂等文物
如何准确表征瓷釉中多价态铁离子的含量和比例是研究我国古代离子着色瓷釉必须解决的一个问题。同步辐射XANES方法在化学价态表征方面具有制样简单、可在空气中测试、可测低含量元素以及微区分析等优点,而在化学价态比值定量表征方面存在不足。为使用该方法将Fe化学价态比值的测试误差控制在±10%以内,必须建立与测试对象成分体系类似标样的Fe离子化学价态校正曲线。鉴于此,本研究根据中国古代瓷釉的成分特点,模拟制备了与之类似成分体系的系列钙釉、钙碱釉标样24片,在配方中掺入57Fe原料一起烧制,以提高穆斯堡尔谱分析的灵敏度和准确性。采用Mössbauer谱表征瓷釉中的铁元素化学价态,结合XAFS分析表征结果,建立了基于XANES谱的Fe离子化学价态校正曲线,并明确其在古瓷釉测试中的适用条件和适用范围。应用该校正曲线,分析了定窑白瓷釉、耀州窑和赣州七里镇窑酱釉以及元代景德镇青花瓷胎体火石红中Fe元素的价态,为进一步探讨相关古代瓷器呈色机制和烧制工艺提供了可靠的证据。应用结果表明,该校正曲线有助于古陶瓷釉中多价态铁离子含量和比例测试,可极大促进对古陶瓷釉中Fe离子呈色及作用的认识。在此基础上,搭建Fe离子化学价态计算平台,供上海光源相关领域用户使用。该平台不仅可为古陶瓷研究提供条件,潜在研究对象还可扩展到玻璃、釉砂、玻砂等文物。
