In consideration of the dwindling of fossil energy as well as the ever increasing demand for new energy resources, the production of hydrogen with high energy density from electrocatalysis of water splitting has attracted widespread attention. To further expand the application prospect of electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), developing highly efficient and inexpensive catalyst to replace the traditional noble metal catalysts has become the focus of recent work. In this project, focused on the transition metal sulfide as well as the restrictive factors across the catalytic reaction, we plan to conduct the electronic property regulation via doping or construction of heterostructure, which would lead to the optimization of conductivity as well as the surface reactivity; observe the changes of physical properties and catalytic activities before and after modulation; investigate the relation between electronic structures and catalytic abilities. The implementation of this project will not only unveil some basic scientific issues, such as rules of electronic property modulation in transition metal sulfide or correlations between electronic structure modulation and catalytic properties, but also provided reference and guidance for the design of highly efficient catalyst as well as the exploration of hydrogen energy.
面对化石能源的日渐枯竭以及对新能源开发的迫切需要,借助电催化剂分解水制备具有高能量密度的清洁氢能源吸引了人们的广泛关注。为了进一步拓展电催化析氢反应的应用前景,开发高效且廉价的催化剂取代传统贵金属催化剂成为当前研究工作的重点。本项目拟以过渡金属硫化物为研究对象,通过分析其在电催化析氢反应中的性能限制因素,借助掺杂、构筑异质结构等微观电子结构调控手段,实现对催化剂导电性和表面活性的优化;对比电子结构调控前后催化剂物理性质与催化性能的差异,继而探索电子结构调控与催化性能优化之间的构效关系。本项目的开展有助于理解过渡金属硫化物电子结构调控规律,解释电子结构调控与催化性能改变之间的构效关系,也为设计更多高效催化剂和拓展氢能源的开发利用提供了借鉴和指导。
