In this project a new concept of Temporal-Frequency Response Spectrum.(TFRS) and its calculation method are proposed. Response spectrum is the.function of period, TFRS is different from response spectrum. It is not only the function of period but also the function of time. TFRS is used to analyze the temporal-frequency characteristics of seismic waves. Three characters of TFRS is analyzed in this project. The first is that it has almost same characteristics of.response spectrum, for example it is also the response of Single-degree-of.–freedom System(SDFS), which there is same damp but different characteristic.period. The second is that it is easy to connect the temporal-frequency.characteristics of seismic waves and dynamic characteristic of structure, and it.can be used to analyze the damage mechanism of structure. The third is that the.duration time is introduced into TFRS, which can be reflected the cumulating.effect.Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) method is proposed by Huang, et. al, in.recent years, which is also used to analyze temporal–frequency characteristics of seismic waves in this project. In the process we analyzes and solved two key.problems, which are the chosen of shifting—end—standard in empirical mode decomposition and the end wing problems excised at the decomposed intrinsic mode function. The research results show that HHT is an efficient method for 国家自然科学基金资助项目结题报告3analysis of non-stationary and non-linear data. The transform results of Huang transform and Fourier transform are compared. Also several signal data are analyzed by using wavelet and HHT methods. The comparisons show that HHT is not only one efficient method for analyzing non-stationary data, but also is a useful tool for examining detail characters of time history signal..It is obvious that there are theoretical and practical values for the research on TFRS and HHT.
