A conventional electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) generally provides information only on the oscillation frequency, sometimes leading to the ambiguity in frequency data analysis and even incorrect conclusion. The sophisticated quartz crystal impedance (QCI) analysis method based on the electromechanical model of the piezoelectric quartz crystal resonance has been introduced to the piezoelectric liquid-purpose sensing field since the end of 1980's, by which multidimensional information reflecting multiple physical/chemical properties can be acquired. The combination of dc electrochemical technique with QCI method was first reported round in the middle of 1990's, and we first proposed the combination of ac electrochemical impedance method with QCI method in related researches to this NSFC project。In this project, we have systematically studied the in situ quartz crystal impedance analyses during electrochemical reactions, and especially solved the mutual interference problem when the two methods are combined with each other. This method can add additional information of phyical/chemical properties to the electrode mass change one, and also merits in smaller noises as compared with conventional EQCM. This novel method has been used for studies on protein adsorption and denaturation; the electrolysis reaction with a medium-solubity product; the meniscus rising during oxygen reduction at a partially immersed electrode; polyaniline surface roughness; the production, adsorption and precipitation of sol; bacteria growth; DNA oxidative damage and anti-damage; and so on.
提出能同时测量电化学阻抗和压电石英晶体阻抗的新技术,通过对所得多维现场信息的综合分析,同时获取电极表面质量变化、电极溶液界面附近组分粘弹性变化和电极溶液界面介电性质变化等信息,扩大传统电化学石英晶体微天平技术的视野。用于电极表面聚合物修饰、有机小分子吸附、分子自组装、蛋白质和DNA吸附、变性过程及金属腐蚀和涂层防护研究。
