Meat quality is a general and complex trait, the genetic mechanisms involved in variations in meat quality traits remain to be fully described. In present study, we will carry out RNA sequencing in leg and breast muscle of different growth stage of slow-growing breed, Wenchang chicken and fast-growing broiler breed, White Recessive Rock. To identify genes (transcripts) or SNP associated with chicken meat quality, comparative analysis in the two breeds and different tissues will be performed. Large-scale association study will be conducted. In addition, we will carry out a series of experiments to confirm the transcripts' and SNP's function relative to chicken meat quality. The accomplishment of this project will contribute to elucidate molecular mechanism of chicken meat quality and important for China quality broiler breeding.
肉质性状是一个综合的复杂性状,大多数肉质性状的遗传机制仍不清楚,大量与鸡肉质相关的基因有待挖掘。本项目选取我国著名的优质肉鸡文昌鸡和快长型的隐性白羽洛克鸡为材料,对不同胚龄或日龄母鸡的腿肌和胸肌等肌肉组织进行转录组测序,进行品种间、组织间的转录组比较分析,筛查与肉质相关的重要差异表达基因和转录组SNP,在商业群体和华南农业大学资源参考家系等群体中进行大规模的关联分析,并对重要差异表达基因(转录本)和SNP进行功能验证。本项目旨在鉴定调控文昌鸡肉质的基因(转录本)和转录组SNP,并初步揭示它们调控文昌鸡部分肉质性状的分子遗传机理,对我国优质肉鸡育种具有重要意义。
