Engineering structures are often subjected to impact loading when they are serving in such fields as aeronautics, aerospace and ordnance industry. For the security and reliability design of such kinds of structures, full understanding of mechanical properties of structural materials at high strain rate is of great importance. The split Hokinson bar technique is widely used as a method to determine the mechanical properties of metallic and metalloid materials at the strain rate ranging from 100 to 10000 /s. This project aims to hold a senior workshop focusing on fundamental theory and the application of the split Hopkinson bar technique. In the workshop, we will invite about 6 famous scholars in this field to give lectures to young scholars who are working in this area. The lectures will cover fundamental theory of split Hopkinson bar technique as well as the extended applications. Meanwhile, some recent development will also be introduced. We hope the young scholars will benefit from the workshop and their academic research and teaching level will also be improved. About 120 young scholars will be invited to attend the senior workshop. The workshop will be held in August 2014 in Xi’an.
航空航天、兵器等领域中的工程结构在使用过程中经常会涉及到动态冲击的问题。进行工程结构动态冲击下的安全性、可靠性设计必须以材料在高应变率下的力学性能参数为依据。Hopkinson杆技术是目前最常用的一种可在应变率100~10000 /s范围内测量各种金属、非金属材料动态力学性能的实验技术。本项目拟于2014 年举办为期7天的“Hopkinson杆理论及应用”高级讲习班,邀请6位左右国内外相关领域的著名专家担任讲习教授,从Hopkinson杆理论基础和专题应用研究两个层面进行系统授课,介绍Hopkinson杆实验技术领域目前研究的热点问题,取得的最新成果。讲习班主要面向国内工作在运载,交通安全研究和教学领域的七零、八零后青年学者,通过集中学习,使他们在学术研究和教学水平方面有所提高。本次讲习班学员规模约120 左右,具体时间拟定为2014 年8月,地点在西北工业大学。
Hopkinson杆技术是目前最常用的一种可在应变率100~10000 /s范围内测量各种金属、非金属材料动态力学性能的实验技术。在本基金的支持下,我们于2014 年7月21日至27日举办了“Hopkinson杆理论及应用高级讲习班”,邀请了10位国内外相关领域的著名专家担任讲习教授,从Hopkinson杆理论基础和专题应用研究两个层面进行系统授课,介绍Hopkinson杆实验技术领域目前研究的热点问题,取得的最新成果。讲习班吸引了来自全国各地50多所高校、研究所的200余名学员参加。本次讲习班的成功举办对于促进相关领域学者之间的深入交流,增强力学学科尤其是冲击动力学学科的活力和凝聚力具有推动作用。
