Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are kinds of major contaminants from e-waste dismantling activities. PBDEs pollution around the dismantling areas are severe. The current elimination technology using zero-valent iron (ZVI) cannot degrade the deca-brominated diphenyl ether (BDE-209) in soils completely, and the main products are lower brominated diphenyl ethers. This project starts from the low brominated diphenyl ethers retained in the e-waste dismantling sites, intending to completely remove the PBDEs in surfactant eluate, to probe into the photodegradation mechanism of PBDEs in surfactant. The effects of coexisting materials (dissolved organic matters, heavy metal ions, etc.) and environmental factors (illuminates, pH, inorganic salts, etc) on photodegradation of PBDEs were studied. This project was designed to reveal the production and accumulation mechanism of PBDEs photodegradation products in the eluate, to optimize the regulation of PBDEs degradation process, to access the possibility to recycle the eluant, and to seek the optimum sollution to accelerate the degradation, decrease the intermediate products accumulation, and enhance the recycle utilization rate of eluant. The research achievements would provide theoretical foundation for remediating soils contaminated by PBDEs as well as by analogous halogenated organic compounds.
多溴联苯醚(PBDEs)是电子垃圾拆解活动带来的一类重要污染物,拆解区及周边土壤中PBDEs污染情况严重。目前常用的零价铁还原修复技术可有效对土壤中大量存在的十溴联苯醚(BDE-209)进行脱溴降解,但其主要产物为低溴代PBDEs。本项目从电子垃圾污染土壤中富集的低溴代PBDEs出发,对用表面活性剂淋洗后淋洗废液中的PBDEs采用光降解技术彻底去除,探索PBDEs在表面活性剂中的光降解机理,研究淋洗废液中共存物质(溶解性有机质、重金属离子等)及环境条件(光源、pH、无机盐等)对PBDEs光降解的影响,揭示淋洗废液中PBDEs光降解产物的生成机制和积累机理,探讨优化PBDEs光降解过程的调控方法,评估淋洗液回收利用的可行性,寻求PBDEs降解速率快、中间产物积累少、淋洗液回收利用率高的最优方法。研究成果可为实施PBDEs污染土壤的修复提供理论依据,并为其他类似卤代有机物污染土壤修复提供思路
