Heihe River Basin, among all inland river basins of China, has the highest level in adopting water-saving techniques in agriculture. Therefore understanding the evolution in regional agricultural water use efficiency under changing environment (i.e. climate change and water-saving practices) has important implications in both practical applications and theoretical advancement for achieving sustainable water use in the region. To achieve the overall goal set up in the project proposal (“The Major Research Plan on Ecosystem-Hydrology Integration in Heihe River Basin”), the project will focus on the evolution of agricultural water use efficiency in the middle reach oasis of Heihe River under changing environment. Specifically, the project will explore the responding mechanisms of water consumption in the oasis to the changing environment, and gain knowledge on the key processes in hydrological cycles within the oasis, especially on how ground water recharge responds to changing environment. The project is expected to get comprehensive understanding on the evolution of agricultural water efficiency in the oasis under changing environment. The results of the project will provide an important part on the evolution of hydrological cycle related to agriculture and agricultural water use efficiency to the complete integration of the Major Research Plan project, and improve our understanding of hydrological cycle, and our ability to achieve sustainable water use in the oasis.
黑河流域是我国内陆河流域农业节水水平最高的区域,明确变化环境下(气候变化及农业节水)区域农业水效率的演变过程对该区域水资源可持续利用具有重要的现实意义和科学价值。本项目将针对“黑河流域生态-水文集成研究重大研究计划”总体目标的要求,以深入认识黑河流域中游绿洲变化环境下农业水效率演变为主线,探讨绿洲耗水对变化环境的响应规律,明确绿洲水转化关键环节,特别是地下水补排对变化环境的响应趋势;在此基础上,获得变化环境下绿洲农业水效率的演变过程。项目研究成果将为“黑河流域生态-水文集成研究重大研究计划”的整体集成提供绿洲农业区变化环境下农业水转化及农业水效率演变趋势,提升对绿洲农业区水资源转化过程的认知水平以及绿洲水资源可持续利用的调控能力。
