Coronal shocks are an important magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) shock in astrophysics, which appears as a Type II radio burst in the radio dynamic spectrum. But not all of the coronal shocks waves are accompanied by Type II radio bursts. Which conditions are needed for the generation of type II radio bursts? This topic will mainly discuss the influence of the magnetic field on generation of the type II radio bursts. Therefore, this project will use techniques such as solar radio frequency spectrum analysis, radio imaging from Nancay Radioheliograph, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) imaging observation and magnetic field extrapolation, and develop a 3-dimensional reconstruction model of coronal shock wave. In particular, we will combine the above methods, overlay the source location of Type II radio-wave on the 3D magnetic field structure around the coronal shock. By calculating the angle between the propagation direction of the shock wave and the magnetic field lines, we can judge: this MHD shock is a quasi-parallel or a quasi-perpendicular shock. Through the above analysis of multiple events, we expect to get the answer to the question "Is there a selective effect of quasi-parallel or quasi- perpendicular shock conditions on the generation of Type II radio bursts?"
日冕激波是天体物理中重要的磁流体激波,其在射电波段表现为II型射电暴。但并不是所有的日冕激波都伴随着II型射电暴。II型射电暴的产生需要怎样的条件?本课题将主要讨论磁场对II型射电暴产生的影响。为此,本课题将使用到射电频谱分析,Nancay射电成像观测,极紫外成像观测,磁场外推模型等技术方法,并开发日冕激波的三维重构模型。特别地,我们把以上手段融合起来,把II型射电暴源区叠加到日冕三维磁场结构中,通过计算激波传播方向与磁力线的夹角,便可以判断:在II型射电暴源区,此MHD激波是准平行激波还是准垂直激波。通过对多个事件进行如上分析,我们期待得到“准平行激波或准垂直激波条件对II型射电暴的产生有无选择效应?”这一问题的答案。
我们收集了NOAA公布的II型射电暴列表,并从中找出了2011年至2017年底的所有type II radio bursts的数据,并在e-Callisto网站上收集整理了相关II型射电暴的动态频谱数据。结合Nancay的射电成像观测,SDO/AIA,SOHO/LASCO,和STEREO/EUVI等仪器的成像观察,对它们做总结分类。我们综合射电频谱的清晰度,STEREO_A/B观测的有无,日冕激波在EUV波段的结构规则性,Nancay射电观测的有无,我们从II型射电暴列表中选出了一个动态频谱清晰、同时有SDO和STEREO的EUV观测、和Nancay射电观测的事件。我们开发了一套的日冕激波三维重构程序,在测试过程中发现gimbal lock 问题,并构建了一个新的旋转方式和旋转矩阵来解决gimbal lock问题。此外,我们利用PFSS磁场外推,和激波的3D拟合程序,结合Nancay射电成像,得到II型射电暴源区附近的磁场位形,并给出了激波面上的磁场结构。结合日冕激波的三维重构结果,判断II型射电暴源区激波面与日冕磁场的夹角,我们依此判断II型射电暴源区位置的激波是准平行激波还是准垂直激波。我们所研究的这个II型射电暴的的平均值为40度左右,并且程双峰分布。此外,我们还根据R-H关系,计划得到了激波上下游区域的密度、压缩比、阿尔芬马赫数等参数。
