The inner drift chamber of the BESIII is encountering serious aging problem after six year's running. Cylindrical GEM (CGEM) detector has been an important candidate for the upgrading of the inner tracker because of its great advantages on radiation hardness, high resolution, stability in high counting rate environment, etc. For the application of CGEM detector in the BESIII inner tracker, key technologies on data processing including detector simulation, track reconstruction and calibration will be studied and new offline data processing software will be developed. Based on simulation study, deep research of the expected performance and the estimation of working parameters will be carried out. This can provide important reference data which is instructive for the detector design.
经过长达6年的运行,BESIII漂移室内室出现严重老化。圆筒GEM(CGEM)探测器以其耐辐照、高分辨、能在高计数率环境下稳定工作等优点已成为内室升级的重要候选方案。针对CGEM探测器在BESIII内径迹室中的应用,对数据处理的关键技术进行研究,包括探测器模拟、径迹重建和刻度,并开发新的离线数据处理软件。通过模拟研究对CGEM应用的预期性能进行深入分析,估算探测器工作参数,为今后探测器设计提供具有重要指导意义的参考数据。
BESIII漂移室内室面临严重的老化问题,增益和击中效率逐年下降,CGEM探测器是内室升级的重要候选方案,相应离线数据处理软件的升级也是该方案的重要研究内容之一。针对CGEM内径迹室在BESIII实验中的应用,研究了离线数据处理中的各项关键技术,包括CGEM探测器模拟和数字化、CGEM内室与漂移室外室的联合径迹寻找与径迹拟合,以及CGEM探测器的刻度和校准方法,并在BESIII离线软件框架下开发了相应的数据处理软件,使用模拟事例对软件进行了调试和优化,结果符合预期,并在此基础上研究了CGEM内室的预期性能。并将其中部分算法直接应用到了CGEM探测器的宇宙线测试数据分析中,获得了初步的分析结果。本项目的研究结果对于BESIII漂移室内室升级有重要指导意义,一方面在BESIII离线软件框架下实现了CGEM探测器的全模拟,给出了CGEM内室的预期性能,另一方面研究成果在探测器测试数据分析中发挥了关键作用。
