Empirical thermospheric models are widely used in scientific research and aerospace engineering. With the requirement of model accuracy is increased continuously, the geomagnetic indices Kp and ap as the model input have become one of the important factors that restrict the accuracy of model, because of their inherent defect in time resolution, observation station distribution and describing the solar wind energy input. This project is based on CHAMP, GRACE, TIMED and other satellites data as well as the meridian space weather monitoring project data, choose the geomagnetic indices which have high time resolution and are used widely (such as ASY-H )as the thermosphere model input. Furthermore, we will research the temporal and spatial characteristics of thermospheric important parameters during geomagnetic storms, and also research the correction between the characteristics and the new geomagnetic indices. Based on the above results, we attempt to recode the geomagnetic effect of the empirical thermospheric models in order to improve the accuracy of the model especially during the geomagnetic storms.
热层大气经验模型在科学研究与航天工程中都有着广泛的应用,随着人们对模型精度要求不断提高,作为模型输入的地磁指数Kp和ap其物理上既不能表征极区能量的输入,并且其在时间分辨率以及观测台站分布上的固有的缺陷已经成为制约模型精度的一个重要因素。本项目基于CHAMP、GRACE、TIMED等卫星以及我国子午工程积累的大量观测数据,选用目前时间分辨率高又使用比较广泛的地磁指数(如ASY-H、PC指数)来作为热层大气经验模型的输入,重点研究地磁活动期间热层重要参数变化的时空规律,并且构建这些变化规律与新地磁指数之间的相关性,基于上面的研究结果,尝试对热层大气经验模型软件中的地磁效应部分进行重新编写,达到提高模型精度尤其是磁暴期间模型精度的目的。
