Biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) emissions play an important role in the formation of atmospheric chemistry and have strong impact on local circumstance and global climate. Elevated nitrogen (N) decomposition is one of the main drivers of global change. BVOCs emissions vary depending on the level of N decomposition. In this study, we apply TD-GC/MS to test BVOCs emissions from dominant tree species in forest communities, such as tropical lowland rainforest, tropical mountain rainforest and tropical cloud forest, along altitude gradient in Hainan Island, analyzed by field and laboratory samplings. The aims of this study are showed as follows: (1) the dynamic rules of BVOCs emissions from dominant tree species in tropical rainforest in China, (2) the variation of BVOCs emissions depending on the environmental factors in rainforest communities along elevation gradient, (3) compared the differences in BVOCs emissions at different levels of N decompositions and the reason for it. This study reveals the releasing rules of BVOCs from trees in rainforest and the relations between BVOCs emissions and N decomposition. It is beneficial to broadly know about the response of BVOCs emissions to N decomposition, and also lead to foreseeable consequence for regional climate change and atmospheric quality. Additionally, the carbon and nitrogen cycles in tropical ecosystem could be deeply investigated.
植物源挥发性有机物(BVOCs)可以改变大气的化学组成,影响区域环境乃至全球气候。氮沉降不断增加导致全球变化日益加剧,其水平高低对植物BVOCs释放会产生强烈影响。本研究拟以海南岛不同海拔森林群落,包括热带低地雨林、热带山地雨林及热带云雾林的优势树种为主要研究对象,应用热脱附与气相色谱及质谱联用(TD-GC/MS)技术,采用野外与实验室模拟相结合的方式,对不同环境条件下BVOCs的释放情况进行测定,以探讨下列几个问题:(1)我国热带雨林群落主要树种释放BVOCs的情况及其动态变化规律;(2)热带植物释放BVOCs的决定性环境因素;(3)植物BVOCs释放怎样对氮沉降发生响应。开展针对热带雨林地区氮沉降与森林群落优势种BVOCs释放特征关系的研究,不仅能进一步明确植物BVOCs释放对氮沉降的响应模式,为本地区气候变化和大气质量预报提供科学参考,更促进了对热带生态系统碳氮循环的深入了解。
