This project has finished the following four scopes of research work: (1) By using computer simulation, we have made it relatively clear the double-pulse mechanism in self-mode-locked Ti:S laser, thereby disapproving the potential practical applicability of this phenomenon. (2) By simulation and experiments, we have created the FROG methods at home for the first time. It can be used to diagnose the amplitude and phase of ultrashort laser pulses. (3) Using IDL and Matlab, we have modeled the spatial fragment distribution of molecular species for ionization, dissociation and even the Coulomb Explosion processes. We have mastered the image correlation method for obtaining the critical internuclear separations during the Coulomb Explosion. Besides the corroboration for Coulomb Explosion process, we also got the internuclear separation and its parameter range via international colleboration. (4) We also started the algorithm, in polar coordinates, for calculating the image correlation for tri-atomic molecules through foreign cooperation, this method can be generalized to multi-atom system. The experiments are being doneabroad.
