Mobile opportunistic networks do not require full connectivity for communications, making them more suitable for self-organized networking with highly dynamics. Studying the transmission potential of mobile opportunistic networks can reveal whether such type of networking can support some emerging applications, which involve time and location sensitive information disseminations. Such study also provides theoretical references for evaluating the potential applications for mobile opportunistic networks. However, the dynamical tempo-spatial characteristics of nodes' movements, the complicated contact relationships among nodes, as well as the multi-dimensionally heterogeneous social traits of nodes, make analyzing the potential of mobile opportunistic networks challenging. At the same time, the unconventional requirements on the application layer, the transmission layer and the network layer of mobile opportunistic networks, make analytical work cannot use the related results for multi-hop networks or MANETs. Aiming to above status, we plan to take advantages of some related theories of stochastic process, large deviation, calculus, human dynamics and sociology to study: (1) the potential of opportunistic transmission in static destination case; (2) the potential of opportunistic transmission in time-varying destination case; (3) the asymptotic behaviors of information spreading in mobile opportunistic networks. The above studies explore the impact of nodes' movement characteristics and social characteristics on opportunistic information spreading from different levels with different perspectives, helping us to understand the tempo-spatial information dissemination process in mobile opportunistic networks, revealing its transmission potential.
移动机会网络的通信不要求网络全连通,更适应复杂动态的自组织互连需求。研究移动机会网络的传输潜力对分析该网络能否支持一些时空敏感型应用十分重要,同时也为评估该网络的潜在应用领域提供理论参考。然而,节点移动的动态时空特性、节点之间的复杂连接关系,以及节点的多维异构社会属性,使得分析移动机会网络的传输潜力极具挑战;应用层、传输层和网络层的非传统要求,使得分析工作无法借鉴多跳无线网络或MANETs的相关结论。针对这种现状,本项目拟应用随机过程、大偏差、微积分、人类动力学及社会学的相关理论,重点研究:(1)面向静态目标区域的机会传输潜力;(2)面向时变目标区域的机会传输潜力;(3)移动机会网络信息传输的渐进性态。上述内容从不同的层面、以不同视角,探索网络节点的移动特性和社会特性对机会信息传输和扩散的影响,洞悉信息的时空传播过程,揭示移动机会网络的传输潜力。
