Firms are increasingly dependent on partners engagement and are establishing e-collaboration to leverage external resources for e-business value creation. As the environment becomes increasingly more turbulent, uncertainty environmental situations plays an important role in determining the relative impact of different organizational capabilities on e-business actives. Thus, there is need to understand the e-business strategic transform of a firm form technical capability focuses to novel environmental adaption. Past researchers have devoted much attention in studying how e-business value creation under static environment from Resource-based View(RBV) and Net-enabled business transformation(e.g., Barua et al. 2004, Zhu et al. 2004, Soto-Acosta and Merono-Cerdan 2008).However, it is less obvious how to specify the exact capabilities that organizations must develop and exercise with the aid of e-business to address turbulent environments..This project will enable us to understand how the theory of agile reconfiguration, an emerging theory in the IS field, can be applied to study the value creation capabilities among e-business partners. According to Opportunity Logic of IT value creation, IT-enabled management innovation and firm environmental adaptation are integrated to explain e-business value creation under uncertainty environmental situations. From theory of agile reconfiguration, this project aims to investigate how digital options can promote the capability to reconfiguration of existing operational capabilities with agility to address urgent, unpredictable, and novel environmental situations. Considering the critical interference factors from operational and industry environments, case study and structural equation method(SEM) will be used to explain , and to examine the value-creation mechanisms of digital options in promoting e-business. This project also will discuss the theoretical and practical implications of how firms should develop digital options in e-business activates and to manage agile reconfiguration capability and gain Net-enabled competitive advantages.
电子商务价值的实现依赖于合作伙伴的参与和协作,在当前竞争日益激烈的市场环境中,合作运用电子商务不可避免地受到不确定性环境的影响,要求企业将战略关注点从技术能力的培育转向复杂环境的适应。然而,合作情境中企业如何应对环境变化并创造电子商务价值的过程尚缺乏成熟的理论框架和实证检验。本课题从管理变革与环境适应相融合的视角,通过引入企业敏捷重构这一关键的协调管理活动,构建"数字化期权-敏捷重构-价值"三维度的作用关系,描述合作情境中电子商务价值的实现路径和作用关系。在考虑运作和产业两类不确定环境的干扰作用基础上,综合采用案例与结构方程建模等统计建模技术展开实证研究,重点阐述以敏捷重构为中心的组织协调与环境适应两种作用机理。研究的理论贡献在于提出并论证敏捷重构在电子商务价值创造中的作用,对于推动网络环境下的销售管理变革以及战略调整也具有重要的实践意义。
