It is of great importance to evaluate the impact of atmospheric bioaerosols on climate in arid/semi-arid region over northwest China, relating to the national strategic needs, such as global climate change, water resources development and public health. However, there is still lack of accurate and comprehensive knowledge of spatiotemporal distributions of their physicochemical characteristics at present. Therefore, this project will estimate distribution of bioaerosols concentration in arid/semi-arid region over northwest China based on long-term continuous CALIPSO lidar observation. At the same time, large-scale field sampling observations will be carried out to investigate the bioaerosol concentration and community structure characteristics of microbes over northwest China in Spring and Summer. The results will be used to validate the estimated concentration of bioaerosols from CALIPSO lidar observation. Hence, we can deeply investigate the characterization of spatiotemporal distributions of bioaerosol in arid/semi-arid region over northwest China, and further reveal their influence mechanism on cloud microphysical characteristics. The implementation of this project will help us more deeply understand the importance role of bioaerosol in atmospheric physical processes in arid/semi-arid region over northwest China, providing valuable observation and knowledge for further evaluating their climate change (especially drought) in the region.
评估生物气溶胶对我国西北干旱半干旱区气候的影响,关系到全球气候变化、水资源开发以及公共健康等方面的国家需求,已成为不容忽视的重要研究热点。而当前还缺乏对其特性时空分布特征的准确、系统的认识。因此,本项目拟基于CALIPSO星载激光雷达长期、连续的观测资料,估算我国西北干旱半干旱地区生物气溶胶浓度分布。同时,开展大范围实地滤膜采样观测,采用荧光显微镜与DNA测序分析等手段,获得西北干旱半干旱区春、夏两季生物气溶胶浓度与微生物群落结构,并验证与改进CALIPSO星载激光雷达生物气溶胶浓度结果,深入研究我国西北干旱半干旱区生物气溶胶性质时空分布特征,进一步探讨该地区生物气溶胶对云特性的影响。项目的实施,将有助于我们加深理解生物气溶胶在西北干旱半干旱区大气物理过程中的重要性,为今后进一步评估其对该地区气候变化(特别是干旱化)提供宝贵的观测基础及理论依据。
