As an extremely important branch of the operations research, combinatorial optimization has wide and profound applications background. With the development of the science and technology, nonlinear combination optimization has become an active study field. The research of optimizing the submodular function has been 30 years, but the study of optimizing the non-submodular function is still growing. Focusing on the nonlinear combinatorial optimization, the summer school will offer three courses, including Optimization of the Submodular Function, Optimization of the Nonsubmodular Function and Machine Learning and Combinatorial optimization. In the Optimization of the Submodular Function course, we will introduce the theory, algorithm and typical application of optimizing the submodular function. Combining the classical design and analysis method of approximation algorithm, the design technique and application of the basic algorithm of optimizing the nonsubmodular function will be introduced in the Optimization of the Nonsubmodular Function class. And Machine Learning and Combinatorial Optimization course will include the theory of machine learning, several typical optimization models and specific solving algorithms of machine learning and so on. We will invite several famous professors to give lectures on the last day. By holding the summer school, we aim to lay a solid foundation of theory and expand research directions for all of the young teachers and graduates.
组合优化是运筹学的一个极其重要分支,它有广泛而深刻的应用背景。随着科学技术的发展,非线性组合优化成为当前一个热门的研究领域。次模函数优化的研究至今已经有30余年,但是对于非次模函数优化的研究却方兴未艾。本次暑期学校将围绕非线性组合优化的核心内容,开设《次模优化》、《非次模优化》和《机器学习与组合优化》三门课程。其中,《次模优化》讲授次模优化的基本理论、算法及应用,介绍典型建模场景;《非次模优化》将结合经典的近似算法设计与分析方法,介绍针对非次模优化问题的基本算法设计技巧与应用;《机器学习与组合优化》将介绍机器学习的基本理论,几种典型的机器学习的优化模型与具体求解算法等内容。在暑期学校最后一天将邀请相关领域专家举行学术前沿讲座及报告会。通过举办此次暑期学校,力求为参加暑期学校的青年教师和研究生夯实理论基础,并拓展研究方向。
