In today's era of rapid development of information,as an operations research, management science and computer science interdisciplinary, combinatorial optimization is much more importance apparently. A large number of large data structures with discrete optimization theory and combinatorial optimization methods presented unprecedented challenges. Theory of algorithms and complexity theory are two areas of combinatorial optimization interdependent main line. The former focus on fast and efficient algorithm design, and the other focuses on the analysis of the problem of the calculation of the limit and tries to find the perfect balance between "possible" and "impossible" quest. Around these two main lines, this summer school sets up two algorithm courses and a complex course, ended up with an academic research seminar by a dozen leading experts in the area. This summer school is just for build up the solid foundation, broaden the horizons and improve the level of learning platform for the graduate students and teachers in the combinatorial optimization and related fields.
组合优化作为一门运筹学、管理科学和计算机科学的交叉学科在当今快速发展的信息时代其重要性愈发显现。大量的具有离散结构的大数据优化问题为组合优化的理论和方法提出了前所未有的挑战。算法理论和复杂性理论是组合优化领域的两条互相依赖的研究主线。前者着力于设计快速有效的算法,后者则关注于分析问题的计算极限,在“可能”与“不可能”之间寻求完美的平衡。围绕这两条主线,本次全国组合优化研究生暑期学校开设了两门算法课程和一门复杂性课程,在暑期学校的最后阶段安排由十多位学术研究前沿专家参与的研讨报告会,为从事组合优化及相关领域的研究生提供夯实基础、开拓视野、提高水平的学习平台。
