Sound localization helps auditory scene analysis and improves speech perception. Sound localization in normal hearing listeners has been studied systematically and deeply, with lots of theoretical models and experimental analysis. However, research on sound localization in hearing impaired listeners is in the preliminary stage. This project aims to set up a binaural sound localization model in the hearing impaired system. Based on the improvement of impaired auditory periphery model, a computational method based on interaural time difference and interaural intensity difference to localization sound is studied. Simulation experiments and subjective experiments are conducted to evaluate the effects of noise, reverberation and multiple compensation strategies on sound localization in hearing impaired listeners. Through comparison between simulation experiments and subjective experiments, the proposed model can be tested and modified. Study of the model helps to develop and optimize hearing aid compensation strategies, and evaluate the effects of compensation strategies on sound localization for hearing impaired listeners in complex acoustic environments.
声源定位有助于听觉场景分析,增强言语感知效果。针对正常听力人群的声源定位已有系统而深入的研究,并有大量理论模型和实验分析;但是,针对听力损伤人群的声源定位研究刚刚起步。本项目旨在建立听力损失系统双耳声源定位模型,模型是在建立听觉外周损失模型的基础上,研究联合双耳时间差和双耳强度差特征判决声源方位的计算方法。通过模型仿真实验和主观测听实验评估噪声、混响和各种助听策略对听障患者声源定位能力的影响,并将仿真实验和主观实验相对照,检验和修正模型。该模型的研究有助于开发、优化助听器补偿策略,预估补偿策略对听障患者在复杂声环境下声源定位能力的影响。
