Based on the previous work, we studied systematically the photorefractivity for new polymer/liquid crystal composites and improved the PR response time to less than 12ms. Different contributions to the formation of gratings were expolered in the PVK-based composites doped with nonlinear optical chromophore NPP. New functional polymer/liquid crystal composites were fabricated and the excellent photorefractive properties were measured.
