The structure thermal history and the rock uplifting process in the middle segment of Qinling were studied by 40Ar/39Ar and FT method. The structure uplifting process were derived from the 40Ar/39Ar ( including MDD ) and FT results. These results show that the northern and southern sides of the Qinling mountain have different cooling history during the Miocene and Cenozoic. Rapid cooling event occurred in about 140Ma in northern Qinling mountain; however, 2 rapid cooling event occurred in south Qinling mountain, which occurred at about 300~200Ma and 130~90Ma respectively. The different tectonic evolution after Qinling ocean closed in northern and southern Qinling Mountain is revealed by 40Ar/39Ar and FT results, and its identical to the tectonic in these region. In addition, Taibai rock uplifted earlier than the other region, and about 80Ma apatite fission track age was gained from the peak of Taibai mountain. and the main uplift epoch range from 24 to 31Ma, and it reacted after about 14~12Ma.
