High biodiversity and rich natural resources exist in the tropical.forests of Hainan Island,which need urgent protection and.sustainable management.The key project “Study on the.Formation Mechanism of Bioivsersity in Tropical Forests of.Hainan Island” has been funded by the National Natural Science.Foundation of China,and executed by Institute of Forest Ecology.& Environment,Chinese Academy of Forestry.The cooperation.institutions included Zhongshan University,Beijing Forestry.University,Nanjing University,Nanjing Forestry University,and.Institute of Tropical Forestry,Chinese Academy of Forestry.The.executing period was from January of 1999 to December of.2002..国家自然科学基金资助项目结题报告.4.Typical natural tropical forest types were selected as the study.subjects.The origin and development of the tropical forest plant.species and forest communities, and their relationships with.paleocological and modern environmental conditions were.analyzed from different spatial and temporal scales.The historical.genesis and evolutionary process of tropical forest biodiversity.were probed.The relationships between modern ecological.conditions and the formation of spatial patterns of tree species and.forest communities were analyzed.In the forest communities,the.niche differentiation ,the interactions among species,and the.patch mosaic patterns were studied.The diversification of.community types and the coevolution of species groups were.probed.Through the studies of genetic diversity ,systematic.relations and molecular ecology of characteristic tree species in.the tropical forests,the variation mechanism of tree population in.the tropical forests were analyzed. A theoretical framework on.biodiversity formation and maintenance mechamism is.constructed based on the results of this key project,which will be.a useful theoretical basis for the rational protection and.sustainable management for forest tropical forest biodiversity..At present,2 books were finished and 48 papers issued in.various journals ,representing the achievements of the key.project.5 post doctoral fellow ,9 Ph.D students and 12.Msc.studients were trained and benefited from this key project..Key words: Biodiversity, Formation Mechanism,Tropical Forest,.Hainan Island
研究海南岛热带林生物多样性历史发生及演化过程;分析观测生态环境及群落内生态位、种间关系和斑块镶嵌体系、阐明热带林群落类型分化和群落内物种多样性协同进化关系的形成规律;通过对热带林特征种和特有种遗传多样性、繁育系统和基因流的分析测定,探索植物多样性形成的种群遗传变异机制。有利于构建完善的生物多样性形成机制的理论体系。
