A new kind of technique to reform the flow field with a baffle was designed and.put into use. It was shown that the mixed effect, basing on the flow field analysis result of electromagnetic stirring of software ANSYS, was marked. By using a mixed baffle and an electromagnetic stirring device, the metal matrix composites were made with various reinforced phases and mother alloys, accomplishing its high efficiency.and lower costs and fast application..The microstructures and mechanic properties of aluminum matrix/tourmaline particulate (Al/TM) composites were observed and contrasted, and the optimum technology parameters were given. At last, 21 papers were published,1 master and 2 doctors were raised cooperatedly. A new type of electromagnetic continuous casting of metal matrix composites and a new type.of electromagnetic separation technique with electromagnetic field of high frequency were developed. Based on the movement mode of primary silicon of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys etal, the.composite gear and pipe, which was composed of hypo eutectic matrix and composite surface such as Si or inter metallic compound Al3Fe, Al3Ni, Al6Mn, were prepared. Meanwhile,the wearability of separated layer was measured..Moreover, a new electromagnetic casting technique with a middle frequency electromagnetic field, was set forward successfully. The structures and properties of aluminum alloys ingots made.by electromagnetic casting and direct chill casting were observed and contrasted, it was found that the electromagnetic casting ingots had better grain structures and doubled mechanical properties, compared with the direct chill casting ingots. The project was further supported by new National Natural Science Foundation of China and Discipline Fund of Dalian University of Technology.

采用不同磁路结构的复合磁场搅拌器、连铸不同合金、不同强化颗粒的金属基复合材料,实现复合材料的高效和低成本,加快复合材料工程化应用进程。以铝代钢,实现汽车零件的轻量化和薄壁化,带动我国汽车工业的发展,合理选择搅拌方式,提高复合强化效果,开展复合磁场连铸金属基复合材料的基础研究。拓宽电磁冶金和金属凝固理论的研究范畴。
