This project investigated the commutation techniques M+N and MxN for lowering the complexity of high-speed wireless transmission techniques. Also we designed the system scheme according to the current situation. By the basic principles and structural system of the smart antenna and MMSE receiver and the current algorithms, we introduce a new theory for multi-stage smart antenna system which has the same effect for the RF/IF/BB weighting. Further, we investigatd the DOA beam-forming for downlink and suggest the downlink beam-forming based on the maximum signal transmiting criterion by means of uplink beam-forming based on the maximum signal receiving criterion. Also we gave a beams optimum method referring to the disadvantage of muti-beam-forming system with high sidelobes. In addition, we also investigate the applicability and performance of downlink beam-forming for different topologies. For the OFDM system, we investigate two key techniques: PAPR and channel estimation. Finally, we gave the system evaluation for different moduation and coding approaches.
