The monitoring of tree radial growth is essential for revealing tree growth/climate response mechanism and evaluating the response of regional forest ecosystem to global warming. This application choose a typical mountain virgin forest in Northwestern China as the study area, which is in the Sidalong forestry station of Sunan County, Gasu Province. Dendrometer measurements and microcoring method are used to monitor stem radial growth of the dominant tree species of Qilian juniper in this region. The process of radial growth will be studied at daily, monthly, seasonal and annual time scales. Combined with the synchronous meteorological observation records, the relationship between stem radial growth and climatic variables will be analyzed at different time scales. On the basis, the differences in radial growth/climate response relationship along the altitudinal gradient will be clarified. Thus the process and mechanism of tree radial growth can be identified.
树木径向生长的动态监测研究不仅是树轮/气候重建的重要基础,同时也是评估全球变暖背景下区域森林生态系统响应的重要依据。本申请拟在西北内陆的典型山地原始森林区(甘肃省肃南县寺大隆林场天涝池流域),开展对区域优势树种祁连圆柏的动态监测研究。使用树木径向生长监测仪,联合微树芯方法,揭示日、月、季节和年尺度的树木径向生长过程与规律。结合同步自动气象监测记录,定量分析不同时间尺度下树木径向生长对气候环境因子的响应。在此基础之上,综合比对树木径向生长的海拔差异及对气候环境因子的响应异同,揭示树木径向生长对气候环境的响应过程与机理。
本项目在西北内陆的典型山地原始森林区(甘肃省肃南县寺大隆林场天涝池流域),对区域优势树种祁连圆柏开展了动态监测研究。使用树木径向生长监测仪(dendrometer),联合微树芯方法(microcoring),揭示了树木不同时间尺度的径向生长过程与规律;对比分析了同一山体高、中、低三个海拔区间树木径向生长规律及其对气候的响应异同。项目成果主要以学术论文形式体现,发表SCI论文3篇,国内会议海报1份。
