The hermatypic corals are the basic framework organisms in the reef ecosystems, being in a degraded state for the influence of many negative factors in recent years. It is extremely urgent to do the coral reef recruitment. The key of the coral community recruitment is that large amounts of coral larvae are available in the reef. In this study, the indoor cultivation and natural reintroduction will be applied to study the specific types selecting of coral larval settlement and metamorphosis to the coralline algae, and focuses on the relationship between the post-settlement survival of coral larvae and coralline algae. In return, this will provide good reference and support for the coral larval culture by using crustose coralline algae. The proposed research will significantly contribute to our basic understanding on the coral community recruitment measures, not only on the evaluating the coral recruitment resilience under natural state, but also benefiting the scientific designation and effective management in coral reef protected areas.
