The interactive relation between vegetation and soil, and the formation mechanism of spatial pattern have always been the hot issues in the field of geography and ecology. The fund project takes the degraded ecological system in Minqin Oasis of Shiyang River Lower Reaches as research project, which has attracted great attention of the nation and scientists. By field investigation and laboratory experiment, around the interactive relation between vegetation and soil, beginning with the soil physical, chemical and biological properties, and the characteristics of vegetation community and individual species, this project mainly studies the soil ecological processes (soil nutrients properties, the structure and function of soil biological community ), and the characteristics of species and spatial pattern of vegetation community. It will reveal the internal mechanism of interactive relation between vegetation and soil of the degraded ecological system in lower reaches of inland river, and explicit the interaction relationship between the soil ecological processes and vegetation characteristics. This research achievement will provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the restoration of degraded ecosystems and the protection of the fragile ecological environment.
植被与土壤的相互作用及其空间格局的形成机理一直是地学界和生态学界高度关注的热点问题。本项目以国家和科学家高度关注的石羊河下游民勤绿洲退化生态系统为研究对象,通过野外调查和室内实验,围绕土壤-植物互馈关系这一核心问题,从土壤理化性状、土壤生物特征和植物群落特性、组分种特性入手,重点研究土壤生态过程(土壤养分性状、土壤生物群落结构及其功能)、植物群落组分种特性和空间分布格局,从而揭示内陆河下游退化生态系统中土壤与植被互馈关系的内在机制,阐明植物特性与土壤生态过程的相互作用关系,为我国退化生态系统的修复和脆弱地区生态环境的保护提供理论依据和技术支撑。
