The resistance level and mechanism of housefly, selected in the laboratory by deltamethrin and permethrin, was studied by bioassay and biochemical methods. The difference of cDNA encoding the Na+ channel between insecticide- resistant and susceptible housefly strains was investigated by PCR-based methods. Results shown that deltamethrin resistance was associated with the decrease of affinity of Na+ channel, while permethrin resistance was not.
