The Prydz Bay and its adjacent area, located in the Indian section of southern ocean,is the key area of Chinese antarctic expedition,and the observation data acquired is the most abundant and have the largest time series.This project aims to systemize and analyze the field observation data obtained during Chinese National Antarctic Research Expeditions in the Prydz Bay (thermohaline profilers, mooring system, surface drifting buoy, etc.), collect widely data on hydrology, atmosphere and sea ice in southern ocean polar regions and subpolar regions, and then to set up the data base for oceanography research in the Prydz Bay. One side, by means of the data mentioned above, researchers conduct study on the variations of the ocean circulation in the prydz Bay, as well as the properties, formation and distribution of water mass; on the other side, researchers carry out high-resolution numerical simulation, based on the MITgcm ice-sea coupled model, and then to assess the numerical results and improve the model. Subsequently, researchers design control tests and sensitivity tests, and to carry out systematic numerical simulaitons based on the high-resolution ice-sea coupled model. Finaly, researchers take further study on the variations (seasonal, interannual and spatial changes) of the ocean circulation in the prydz Bay by taking the simulation results, observation and shared data into consideration, and also find out the formation, distribution and transport route of main water mass, especially the formation and transport route of Antarctic Bottom Water.
位于南大洋印度洋扇区的普里兹湾及其邻近海域,是我国南极科学考察的重点海域,所积累观测数据最为丰富,观测时间跨度最为长久。但对于普里兹湾海洋环流的精细结构及其变化特征,特征水团的形成、分布及其输运,尤其是南极底层水的形成和输运,认识匮乏。本研究拟整理分析我国历次南极考察在普里兹湾获取的观测数据(站位温盐剖面、潜标、漂流浮标等),广泛收集南大洋极区和亚极区水文、气象及海冰资料,开展普里兹湾环流结构变化特征及水团性质、形成、分布研究;基于MITgcm冰-海耦合模式,开展高分辨率的普里兹湾冰-海耦合数值模拟研究(分辨率优于5km*5km),并对模拟结果进行验证评估;设计控制试验、敏感性试验,系统地开展高分辨率普里兹湾冰-海耦合数值模拟;综合模拟结果、观测和共享资料,深入研究普里兹湾环流精细结构及其变化特征(季节、年际及空间变化),明确主要水团的形成、分布及输运路径,尤其是南极底层水的形成和输运。
本项目整理分析了我国近年来南极考察在普里兹湾获取的观测数据(站位温盐剖面、潜标、漂流浮标等),广泛收集了南大洋极区和亚极区水文、气象及海冰资料,开展了普里兹湾环流结构变化特征及水团性质、形成、分布研究;基于MITgcm 冰-海耦合模式,开展高分辨率的普里兹湾冰-海耦合数值模拟研究(分辨率优于5km*5km),并对模拟结果进行了验证评估;设计了控制试验、敏感性试验,系统地开展了高分辨率普里兹湾冰-海耦合数值模拟;综合模拟结果、观测和共享资料,深入研究普里兹湾环流结构及其水团变化特征,明确了绕极深层水涌升的主要路径、分布及其影响。发表论文4篇,其中SCI收录3篇,核心期刊1篇。
