Journal of Environmental Sciences

The Journal of Environmental Sciences (JES), an international journal started in 1989 and sponsored by the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is devoted to publish original, peer-reviewed research papers on main aspects of environmental sciences. Appropriate subjects include basic and applied research on atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic environments, pollution control and abatement technology, and conservation of natural resources, environmental health and toxicology. Announcements of international environmental sciences meetings and other recent information are also included. The journal''s board of reviewing editors consists of 36 members from a variety of scientific disciplines of China, USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Australia and Austria etc. This journal is abstracted/indexed by more than 40 organizations/institutions, including Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) and Engineering Index (EI). International and domestic distributions are by Elsevier limited of the Netherlands and Science Press of China. The Impact Factor of JES has increased significantly in recent years, according to the 2010 Journal Citation Report by Thomson Reuters released on June 2011, the Impact Factor of JES for 2010 is 1.513. The Impact Factor of JES ranks 100/192 (top 52%), the total cites rank 71/192 (top 36%), and the current articles rank 21/192 (top 10%) out of 192 international journals in environmental sciences. The journal JES is arousing more and more interest from environmental scientists all over the world.

1．.《Journal of Environmental Sciences》（JES）是中国第一份环境科学方面的综合性英文学术期刊，1989年创刊。本刊宗旨是反映我国和世界环境科学的研究成果；促进国内外学术交流；为我国和世界环境科学的发展做出贡献。主要报道水环境、大气环境、地面环境、环境健康与毒理、环境生物、环境催化与材料、环境分析方法等方面的内容。目前已有四十余个国内外检索机构收录该刊内容，其中包括美国科学引文文摘扩展版（SCIE/web Science）和工程索引（EI）。 36位海内外编委参与该刊编委会工作，汤鸿霄院士任主编。科学出版社和ELSEVIER出版集团负责刊物的海内外发行。近几年，期刊在各个方面都有了显著的提高。杂志的来稿量逐年增多，国外作者投稿量也显著增多。SCI影响因子逐年稳步提高， 由2009年1.412 上升到2010年1.51。JES期刊受到广大学者关注。

自编辑部承担项目以来，我们从以下几个方面开展工作，并取得了一定的成效。.1．（1）为加速提升JES的国际化进程，主管单位领导决定全球招聘主编。最终选定国际著名科学家Prof. Chris Le 接任新一任主编；Prof. Le 将组建新一届更加国际化的编委会成员；（2）为吸收优秀稿源，我们开通了绿色通道，尽快发表科学家的最新研究工作；（3）采用更加国际化的EES投审稿系统，缩短了文章的发表周期；（4） 积极培养和发展编辑队伍；（5）聘请海外专业英文编辑，润色JES将发表的文章，提高文章的可读性；（6）编辑积极参加或资助相关国际会议，提升JES国际影响力。.2．JES-SCI 影响因子上升到2013年度1.922 （五年影响因子上升到2.465），总被引频次4774次。
