鼋是一类珍稀濒危动物,议国境内仅在浙瓯江,滇澜沧江有少量分布,但均处于绝灭边缘.本项目通过瓯江及其支流的水文、水质、植被等栖息地环境变化的调查。观察统计了种群的数量，以及繁殖习性和产卵场的调查观察。通过研究分析原因，并提出保护对策，研究结果已由当地渔政部门采用，并撰写论文4篇，其本按予定计划完成。
