非线性空间面板数据模型研究

Nonlinear spatial panel models have recently been receiving more attention in both empirical and theoretical econometrics, however, how to construct or model the nonlinear spatial correlation as well as the estimation of such models is still an open question, especially for the fixed-effect models. This project aims to research on the construction and estimation of nonlinear panel data models in the existence of spatial effects. We first try to estimate the typical nonlinear panel models with spatial effects, such as the spatial binary choice model, spatial Tobit model, and spatial monotone transformation model. Then we will construct the nonlinear spatial panel model with a general form, and propose non-parametric or semi-parametric estimation methods, prove their asymptotic properties. Our study can fill current nonlinear spatial panel models literature gap by proposing new estimation methods. We will also program the proposed estimation methods in MATLAB or STATA, which would facilitate empirical analysis.

非线性空间面板模型是近年来空间计量经济学研究的一个热点问题，然而如何构建非线性空间相关性以及如何估计非线性空间面板模型依然是个开放性的问题，尤其是对于固定效应模型。本项目旨在研究存在空间效应的情况下，如何构建以及估计非线性面板数据模型。我们第一步研究如何估计存在空间效应的常见的非线性面板模型，如空间二元选择面板模型、空间Tobit面板模型以及空间单调变换面板模型；接着我们构建具有一般形式的非线性空间面板模型，对其提出非参数或半参数的估计方法，并证明其渐近理论性质。本项目的研究成果将弥补目前非线性空间面板模型文献的不足，提出新的估计方法，用MATLAB或STATA编写估计程序以便实证分析者使用。

经济学理论表明，很多重要的宏观经济变量和经济现象具有非线性的特征。如果忽略这种非线性特征，而使用面板数据线性回归模型对其进行分析，则很可能出现估计结果的偏差，并最终导致错误的结论。估计非线性面板模型的主要困难在于如何处理个体异质性，尤其是对于固定个体效应模型，因为这种模型允许不可观测的个体效应跟外生的解释变量相关。尽管在线性面板或者可分的面板固定效应模型中，我们可以通过消除固定效应或者把固定效应当做参数来估计，但是用这种方法来估计非线性面板模型通常会有附带的参数问题。另外，一旦我们允许非线性面板模型具有空间相关性，问题将会变得更加的棘手和复杂。.本项目针对各类非线性空间面板数据固定效应模型，提出估计方法并证明其理论性质，目前主要完成下列几方面的工作：（1）针对空间二元面板数据固定效应模型，已提出估计方法并证明其渐近性质，并通过蒙特卡洛随机模拟实验验证新提出估计方法的大样本性质；（2）对一般的非线性空间面板模型，在一定条件下，可以简化为带有空间交互项的线性面板数据模型，并针对这种模型提出极大似然法估计，证明其理论性质；（3）应用本项目提出的估计方法进行实证分析，如：分析在财政分割的背景下，美国犯罪率之间的空间结构以及财政分割与犯罪率的空间结构之间的关系等。
