Correct understanding of how does the variable density flow impact on solutes migration in groundwater, is fundamental step to elucidate what are controlling processes of freshwater transferring to saltwater and contaminant migration/reaction in inland shallow aquifer. Most of the previous studies of variable density simulation concentrated on the water-salt nutrient exchange in the coastal areas, however, few consideration is given to the hydrogeochemical reaction process. In this study, we are trying to couple solute transport and hydrogeochemical reactions under variable density flow field and modify/develop a module based on framework and structures of previous professional software. This module would be tested and verified using published benchmark studies. To further test its robustness, we applied it into a field site. Combing the field experimental data, hydrogeochemical analysis, we can get high-resolution of spatiotemporal contaminant migration and reaction processes in in freshwater and saltwater interaction zone in shallow aquifer of this field site. The results has significant implications for groundwater remediation in similar hydrogeochemical settings and the coupled model would become useful modeling tool.
正确认识变密度流对地下水溶质运移的影响机理,是研究内陆浅含水层咸水化成因和污染物迁移转化规律的基础。以往的变密度模拟研究大多都集中在海滨地区的水盐养分交换,较少考虑水文地球化学反应过程。本申请项目在前人研究的基础上,将改进变密度地下水流溶质运移耦合化学反应的模拟工具,应用于典型污染场地开展案例研究,综合场地试验和水化学分析交叉验证模拟结果,精细刻画浅含水层咸淡交错带中溶质运移和化学反应过程。研究成果可为变密度流模拟和污染场地地下水污染修复提供技术支撑。
