Digital Changjiang River Course is the primary part of digital Changjiang River Basin. The solution of construction of Digital Changjiang River Course relates to lots of issues such as fast data collection of Digital Changjiang River, construction of 3D simulation models on the water dynamic model, Sand trasportation model and Geomorphological Change model in the rivercaouse, integration of these models and GIS, 3D visualization of the river course, and creation of virtual environment system based on Internet etc. This research emphasizes in detecting the application of satellite remote sensing technology in monitoring the changes of the depth and the bank of the Changjiang River, building a underwater-terrain database of 10-phase of the Changjiang River Course. In this research, we have a deep quantitive research into terrain changes of the Changjiang River Course since last 50 years, build a evolvement model on the Changjiang River Course based on Geospatial statistic method. In addition, we make several models on 3D water dynamic model, water quality diffusion and sand transpotation model, solve the problem of grid automatic creation based on GIS, make the rectangle grid creator, restricted unit grid creator and cross-curve grid creator, work out some key techniques in the integration of GIS and distributed geographical models, adopt the idea of web service to create the virtual GIS on the base of Web GIS, set up a simulation support system, which has the interactive functions to regulate the conditions of the boundary, hydrology and sand and man-made engineerings.
