Synchronously pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillator is an effective way to get ultrafast coherent optical source from ultraviolet to mid-infrared. Wavelength from 3µm to 5µm is in the atmospheric window band, and has important application in laser radar, environmental monitoring, remote sensing, and electro-optical countermeasure, etc. Based on the experience on the diode-pumped mode-locked Tm-doped laser and optical parametric amplification, we will study the generation of mid-infrared femtosecond pulses by optical parametric oscillation. By using of the femtosecond mode-locked Tm-doped laser with output power of 500mW, pulse duration of about 500 fs and wavelength of about 2µm as the pump, we will research the high-efficiency mid-infrared femtosecond optical parametric oscillation, which will result in tunable mid-infrared femtosecond pulse from 2.4-4.0 µm with pulse duration of about 500 fs. This research involves key scientific and technical issues such as broadband phase matching, dispersion management, precise laser synchronization, and so on, which is novel not only because it can produce higher power tunable mid-infrared femtosecond pulse, but can effectively reduce the cost. Hence, there is promising applications in a number of research fields.
同步泵浦的飞秒光学参量振荡器是获得从紫外到中红外波段超快激光的有效手段。3-5µm波段的中红外光对应大气窗口,在激光雷达、环境监测、遥感、光电对抗等方面都有重要的应用。基于在二极管泵浦锁模掺铥激光器和参量放大方面良好的基础,计划通过同步泵浦光参量振荡研究中红外飞秒激光脉冲的产生。利用平均功率为500mW、脉冲宽度为500fs、波长在2µm附近的全固态飞秒掺铥激光器作为泵浦源,研究高效率的飞秒光学参量振荡,实现脉冲宽度约500fs,波长范围2.4-4.0µm连续可调谐的中红外飞秒激光输出。本项目涉及到宽带相位匹配技术、色散控制、精密激光同步等关键科学和技术问题,是具有创新意义的工作,不仅可以实现更高功率的可调谐中红外超快激光,而且可以有效降低成本,在许多研究领域具有广泛的应用前景。
