天生全球化企业回归母国市场：基于企业行为理论的研究

Born global firms, that start exporting from inception, have been actively exploring their home market opportunities after the global economic downturn. But such initiatives have encountered massive failures. Such a counterintuitive phenomenon provides enormous opportunities to extend the international business research. Based on the behavioral theory of the firm, this project assumes born global firms as decision makers with bounded rationality. The project will examine the motive, behavior and performance of the return to the home market, employing the core constructs of the behavioral theory of the firm e.g. performance feedback, aspiration level, problemistic search, slack search, organizational routine. Our study on such "inbound internationalization" behavior will challenge the default assumption of the international business literature regarding the outbound exploration of overseas market opportunities. The project will also extend the literature on international location choice. Finally the project will conceptualize and empirically test the “liability of foreignness at the home market” of born global firms.

在全球经济持续深度低迷的背景下，创业之初就将出口作为主要销售途径的天生全球化企业，积极探索在看似最熟悉的母国市场进行“出口转内销”，然而却大面积遭遇挫折。这一“反直觉”的现象，为拓展国际商务研究提供了广阔的空间。本课题基于企业行为理论，将天生全球化企业视为有限理性的决策主体，围绕企业的绩效反馈、期望水平、问题搜寻、冗余搜寻、组织惯例等核心行为特征，系统研究天生全球化企业回归母国市场的动机、行为与绩效。通过对此“内向型国际化”行为的创新研究，本课题将突破国际商务文献中企业外向型探索市场机会的默认假设、将拓展国际区位选择文献、还将概念化并实证验证天生全球化企业“母国外来者劣势”理论假说。

围绕天生全球化企业为何回归母国的问题，本项目研究了企业全球化进程中的扩张速度、制度环境、海外阻力、退出市场等问题。研究方法主要有案例研究和计量回归。共发表7篇SSCI检索论文，其中2篇（Journal of International Business Studies）进入顶级管理学期刊目录（UTD 24），还有2篇（Journal of Management Studies；Journal of Business Ethics）进入权威管理学期刊目录（FT 50）。研究结论对国际创业、全球价值链、制度基础观等均有贡献。已完成主体研究目标。
