Hadron spectroscopy is a key tool in the study of the fundamental theory of the strong interactions (Quantum Chromodynamics, QCD). Experimental search of new forms of hadrons is extremly important to the validation and development of QCD theory. It has been one of the most important physics goals for many high energy physics experiments in the world. Partial wave analysis (PWA) is a powerful tool to study the hadron spectroscopy, that allows one to extract the resonance's spin-parity, mass, width and decay properties with high sensitivity and accuracy. This project is based on its innovative research and development of the PWA methods and techniques. A high sensitivity PWA system for high statistics analyses is established harnessing the advanced high performance parallel computing technology. Using the high statistics data collected at BES III, this project systematically studies the J/ψ radiative decays into peudoscalar pairs. The series of PWA studies will provide significant inputs to the understanding of meson spectroscopy. It is very important to the search and identification of glueballs.
强子谱学是研究物质强相互作用基本理论(量子色动力学)的重要工具。在实验上寻找和研究新型强子,对于检验和发展量子色动力学具有重大意义,一直是世界上许多高能物理实验的重要物理目标。分波分析方法可以精确测量粒子的自旋宇称,共振态参数和衰变性质,是强子谱学最关键的研究手段。 本课题立足于分波分析方法和技术的创新性研究与发展,应用先进的高性能并行计算技术,建立高统计量高灵敏度分波分析的方法和技术体系。利用BES III高统计量数据,本课题对J/ψ辐射衰变到赝标量介子对进行系统的分波分析研究。这一系列研究对理解介子谱有重要意义,为寻找和甄别胶球提供了关键信息。
