In military activities for both homeland security and public security, combat soldiers can instantly acquire important information through wearble displays. However, there is no infrared image display available for night combats in China. The soldiers could be in a life-threaten situation if a visible image display would be used in the combat fileds at night. Therefore, this research proposal suggests a dual functional display, capable of showing both visible images and invisible (infrared) images, comprising tandem organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The tandem OLED will have four electroluminescence (EL) units, i.e., red, green, blue, and the infrared EL units, which are connected in series electrically within a device and which can emit the four colors spontaneously. This diplay can be switched to visible image mode in daylight and to infrared image mode at night by a color filtering technique. We therefore believe that the studies of this new type of tandem OLEDs would be very meaningful to the improvement of personal equipment for combat fields, to the enhancement of life safety of the soldiers in the combat fields, and to the smart design of infrared image displays for use in both aviation and spaceflight.
在维护我国领土完整和社会治安的武装活动中,武装人员可通过穿戴式显示器实时获取重要信息。然而,我国目前还没有适于夜间武装活动的红外显示器。如果在夜间使用可见光显示器,则会给武装人员带来暴露目标的生命危险。为此,本项目提出兼具可见光和红外光发射的叠层有机发光二极管(OLED)显示器件的概念,并对此进行相应的器件结构研究和双显示功能的验证。该叠层OLED器件包含由三个内部连接层所串联在一起的红、绿、蓝、和红外四个有机发光单元,并可同时发出四种颜色的光。其可见光显示与红外光显示的功能切换可以通过红外光滤色片技术来实现。该器件在白昼条件下可以用作常规的可见光彩色显示器,在黑夜情况下可以转换为红外显示器。这一新型叠层OLED的研发,对单兵显示装备的发展、对武装人员在武装活动中安全性的提高、乃至对高性能航空航天红外显示器的研制具有重要意义。
本项目提出兼具可见光和红外光发射的叠层有机发光二极管(OLED)显示器件的概念,并对此进行相应的器件结构研究和双显示功能的验证。在具体的器件制备过程中,我们创新性地采用了通用型基激复合物主体策略,蓝绿红三色的有机发光二极管分别取得了21.7%, 23.9%, 和 22.0%的外量子效率。兼具可见光和红外光发射的叠层有机发光二极管(OLED)表现出最高的电流效率、功率效率、外量子效率依次为25.7 cd/A,6.8 lm/W和17.4%,开启电压为11.0 V。该叠层OLED可见光显示与红外光显示的功能切换可以通过红外光滤色片技术来实现。该器件在白昼条件下可以用作常规的可见光彩色显示器,在黑夜情况下可以转换为红外显示器。这一新型叠层OLED的研发,对单兵显示装备的发展、对武装人员在武装活动中安全性的提高、乃至对高性能航空航天红外显示器的研制具有重要意义。
