Maonan nationality is one of 55 minorities in China with the population of 107,166 and mainly lives in Huanjiang County of Guangxi, and is one of several specific minorities in Guangxi. Our previous studies showed that the prevalence of dyslipidemia and hypertension was significantly higher in Maonan than in local Han populations. The reason for these differences is not yet clear. The present study was undertaken to carry out an epidemiological survey on dyslipidemia and hypertension in the Maonan population. A total of 1500 participants of Maonan nationality (three generations of ancestors are the Maonan) shall be selected using random and stratified approach (gender and age). Serum lipid and blood pressure levels shall be measured. The selected crowd was confirmed by human genetics (on the Y chromosome and mitochondrial diversity study). Genotyping of 52 new identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) will be performed by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism combined with gel electrophoresis, and then confirmed by direct sequencing. The association between these SNPs and serum lipid and blood pressure parameters will be detected. The interactions of these SNPs and alcohol consumption, smoking and overweight/obesity etc. shall also be analyzed. The results shall also be compared with 1500 sujects of local Han nationality (three generations of ancestors are the Han).
毛南族是我国55个少数民族之一。2000年人口为107166,主要分布在广西环江县境内,也是广西特有的几个少数民族之一。我们前期的研究显示,毛南族人群高脂血症和高血压患病率明显高于当地的汉族人群,其原因尚未清楚。本项目对毛南族人群作血脂异常和高血压的流行病学调查,分层(性别和年岭)随机选择祖宗三代均为毛南族的1500人作研究对象,测定其血脂和血压水平。通过人类遗传学方法(对Y染色体和线粒体多样性的研究)证实入选人群后,用限制性片段长度多态性和直接基因测序等方法对52个新近发现的可能与血脂和血压水平相关的基因位点进行基因分型,分析这些基因位点与血脂和血压水平的关系,以及这些基因位点与饮酒、吸烟和超重/肥胖等因素的相互作用对血脂和血压水平的影响,并与当地1500位祖宗三代均为汉族的居民作比较。探讨毛南族人群血脂异常和高血压的环境和遗传危险因素以及环境-遗传因素相互作用对血脂和血压水平的影响。
